I wonder how that would work out today? They're talking about a jobless recovery and even if we have "jobs" it won't
be the same opportunities as before.

Must have been like being on another planet, having enough of a demographic voting bloc to get stuff like that through. When such a sizable amount of the
electorate were rissoles*. Always reckoned it put into perspective what was and wasn't crap. Once read a article that postulated that the fashions of
the 50's and early 60's tended more towards your Marilyn Monroes and Rita Hayworths, rather than the later Twiggys and Goldie Hawns, because of the
wartime experiences of the men concerned. As in, not only are there no atheists in foxholes, there also aren't any desires for Twiggies on shore-leave.
