He has always reminded me of Obama
I like him the more I listen to him. But that's a big reason I'm skeptical. He sounds TOO much like Republican Obama.
What Jo says is very very standard across most conservative comments I see about Vivek.
Sic: He's too good to be true therefore he is a snake. He sounds like Republican Obama. It's obvious he wants to slip in and then screw the country even harder than Democrats have. He's shady, he's arrogant (funny how asshole Van Jones says exactly the same things about Vivek that Jofrance and other Republicans do), he's in bed with someone we aren't quite sure about but it may be George Soros.
This is exactly what I am reading - those are the self assured, absolutely rock solid mantras across the MAGAsphere. It is almost universal. It probably accounts for Vivek's ultra low polling numbers, in addition to suppression by the establishment.
I'm a weirdo because I actually believe (well, think) the guy is legit. I've listened to him at length in non confrontational interviews such as the PBD podcast where he doesn't have to be bellicose and he is extremely rational and comes off to me as a builder and a maker. He describes actual policy points that aren't just anti woke eflluvia. He sounds a lot more constructive than Trump in terms of specific policy, frankly.
He has no "glitches" where some hypocrisy or bullshit leaks out that betrays his messaging. (Every other liar such as Nikki Haley regularly puts their foot in their mouth on something.
There's the truth and then there is what people (including myself) think, and everyone's opinion is like an asshole, they all stink, including mine.
I like what he has to say too but his background is sketchy, especially his previous affiliation with WEF and the Soros family. I'm sure those associations opened a lot of doors for him because he really has accomplished a lot in his life for someone who is only 38. I've always thought he was groomed to be another Obama.
What I don't understand is why he is wasting his time running for president in a primary race he can't win. He's already said he isn't running for VP.
That I'm not sure about, but it's pretty clear that Trump is just doing this for "revenge" and most of his followers only want to re-elect him for the same. He didn't do much his first 4 years (and I was a Trump supporter, but not die-hard MAGA), it was just that he was different and talks his mind (read: spouts out shit without care) and trolls the Dems.
To me, that's not a reason to vote for someone. Vote for the best person, and IMHO Vivek has at least shown he has actual ideas to do what he says, not some nebulous "I'm going to do X if you vote for me. How? Well I cant say it just yet but vote for me if you want it to happen!" like Trump, who sounds more like these independent wanksters with no plan but just want to appeal to the masses. Vivek has outlined his actual plans, and how he wants to achieve it. Plus I love how people try to call him out and he actually will let them speak and talk to them, sometimes even convincing them. Who else does that?
Trump is running because he wants to save the country. Everyone prospered because of the Trump policies. No inflation, low gas and energy prices, energy independence and no wars. Illegal immigration was under control with his stay in Mexico policy. He did so much more than that. People are voting for him to bring back those policies. Me too.
Is revenge part of why he is running? I don't know if I'd call it exactly that. He wants to dismantle the deep state - the unelected bureaucrats that have far too much power over this country. He wants to prevent groups like the WHO, UN, NATO etc., from imposing a globalist takeover of the US. I'm for that kind of revenge. He wants to right the ship.
Vivek talks, Trump actually turned the economy around during his first term, despite great opposition from all sides. This time around, Trump will be even more successful and all of us will greatly benefit.
In the meantime, Vivek's true colors have been exposed. I think he was a plant to split the MAGA vote.
I think he was a plant to split the MAGA vote.
I think so too.
...But it's academic now because he has suspended his campaign.
Let's take a sweep on how long the others last.
DeSantis: two more third places then out.
Haley: for as long as they can attract donor support. Say half of the full primary campaign.
Others: there are no others.
I didn't think he would stay in the race after his showing in the Iowa Caucus last night. He only got 7.7% of the vote. I wonder how long DeSantis and Haley will stay in the race. Neither one of them can win the primary against Trump. Maybe they're hoping one of the indictments against Trump will destroy his candidacy, but that is not likely to happen. People want Trump back.
By staying in the race and denying the inevitable, DeSantis and Haley are destroying their future prospects to hold political office. I had a much higher opinion of them before they decided to run against Trump after telling him previously that they wouldn't. That tells me all I need to know about both of them.
