There has been much MAGA wailing about Mike Johnson getting the speakership - that Thomas Massey or similar others would have been a better selection.

Styx makes the case that Mike Johnson's only strong supporter has been DJT. And Mike J apparently based upon his past actions has no real moral compass or character in terms of leading on key issues. He's a weathervane who points where the wind blows.

This means that essentially MJ is Trump's owned man - his position is owing to Trump. He'll more than likely cave to whatever Trump wants.

Congressional Republicans are stupid asshole motherfucker directionless non strategic fucking idiots. Many are MAGA but insane and can't get anything done and ask for the moon. Others are RINOs who are identical to Dems. They don't strategically band together, they take the "big tent" idiocy straight to losing to Dems on issues almost every single time.

This may be Trump's strategic way of enforcing order on the votes and actions of the house. It's not even "4D chess". It seems to be organic and strategic.

Anyone else would want to negotiate with Trump, and if it's one thing MJ does well it's laying down to be run over and taking one for the team. :-D

If he does what Trump wants, I'm okay with that. If you remember what happened when they ousted Kevin McCarthy, Congressional Republicans couldn't agree on any candidate so it made sense to go with Johnson rather than waste weeks trying to pick a new speaker

Yeah, he's a doctrinaire wussy. Kind of comes off like the Republican analog to someone like Merrick Garland.

Yeah lol. They both remind me of George McFly (the wimp version) in Back to the Future. Garland even sounds like him when he talks.

He looks like he's 5 feet tall. Mike Johnson tries to look big and bad but its a total fail.
