Addressing this board's bias toward logic and reasonability in others (Public Board)

In a recent thread, command-o said:

For all the talk about 2A, I don't think any American will do anything firearm-related for some time yet. There has been no evidence of any such inclination to date.

That is not to say that nothing will happen ever.

,ndo - please indulge an anecdote about a recent event in my home area. Actually about 2 miles from our house. This Reddit thread has enough news links and facts to find your own stuff.

https://www.reddit.com/r/cincinnati/comments/1diyl86/shooting_in_lebanon/

There were some eyewitness accounts and comments on a local Facebook group that add details not shown in the news media. Specifically...

- Apparently there was a road rage event on that limited access highway between the shooter and the victim.

- The victim, Andy Rainey, was stopped behind the shooter in traffic. Got out of his car, and walked toward the other driver (the shooter) still in his driver's seat. Rainey was beating on the guy's car with his fist as he walked along the car.

- When Rainey approached the driver (in a convertible) the driver shot him in the stomach and Rainey later died at the hospital.

Rainey, from numerous local accounts I saw posted on Facebook, was a well known pillar of the community. Church goer and had participated in many disaster relief missions to places like Katrina.

We drive these roads every day. What I surmise from Rainey's actions and also his reputation is like this:

The other driver (shooter) was doing something blatantly unsafe in traffic a few minutes before, and may have been harassing Rainey in traffic - brake check, sideswipe, etc.

My own experience with this particular road is that local drivers make points constantly and are constantly being complete assholes in traffic. If you drive < 20mph over the speed limit you will be almost clipped on purpose by passing cars. On that one road. It seems like there is kind of a local idea that each driver thinks they are the Mayor and boss of that road. We've almost T boned drivers pulling out on that road numerous times.

Rainey, a good man, lost his shit when the traffic stopped at the light and decided to let the other driver know that he is Boss and Mayor of this road. Like everyone else in this stupid fucking town.

The driver could have used pepper spray but he was prepared to kill someone in a dispute and had that gun close at hand.

Note:

Both men were not exactly desperate.

Both me had plenty to lose.

Neither was clinically insane.

And a good man who lost his shit once died as a result.

I have plenty of other stories about this town. I go out in public rarely here, mainly to buy groceries, and without fail someone is royally shitty toward us face to face.

I'm not certain if Lebanon is a ghetto suburb or if it's Ohio or if it's the US.

Expect election violence.

I generally assume most other people are stupid, nuts, and violent. I'm super-cautious with strangers and at work.

There are 3 groups that get super extra caution: Muslims, homos, and blacks. I've had lots of bad experiences with all 3 of those groups, with few/no positive experiences.

I had a tranny coworker who came to work always smelling like marijuana. I overheard him on the phone once, and he was telling the boss' boss how I was a bad employee.

I had an idiot boss at one job. After I was no longer working there, I decided to check him out on social media and found out he was a homosexual.

As my anecdote implied...

Psychos are everywhere these days, and the anger level is just under the surface. I don't need to fear fags or any other "diverse" group. Normies around me are fucking crazy.

The shooting I described freaked us out because of the banality of the individuals involved and the place - plenty of people around, broad daylight, etc. We live in an area where there are horse farms surrounding us and yet it's basically the hood in a way.
